Spondylitis is a common issue. 8 out of 10 persons are affected by it, which is the leading cause of disability worldwide. The pain varies from person to person.

Spondylitis Cause

Spondylitis is one of the most common and prime causes of back and neck pain. The exact causes of spondylitis are still unknown. Certain factors that increase the chance of spondylitis are as follows-

  • wear and tear on the vertebrae due to age
  • A past neck injury
  • Genetic predisposition
  • Microfractures due to osteoporosis
  • Infectious diseases like brucellosis, which affect the vertebrae

Spondylitis Symptoms

The severity of Spondylitis varies from person to person. Some common symptoms include:

  • Stiffness while waking and becomes severe over the day
  • Pain or swelling of joints
  • Inflammation in intestine
